I facilitated regular low-stakes usability testing to surfaces ways to improve our web presence. Additionally I consulted other teams within the George Washington University Libraries and Academic Innovation building digital tools in employing usability testing best practices to improve their tools. Prior to the launch of the Academic Commons and Instructional Core websites, I conducted lightweight focus groups to ensure the website site map included everything users expected to see and help determine names for the website that had strong branding and made sense to new users.
